Transfigure (2017)

Experimental Short, (2.52 mins) HD Video.

Transfigure stemmed from research into conflicts which arise within the collection and ownership of non-human bodies. The film explores these conflicts within human and insect encounter through manipulation of a dancers movements as they perform the role of the insect. With repulsion and mystery provoked by unfamiliar contortions, the cocoon becomes an imprisoning release. In death and stillness the insect's body metamorphs into materiality, its fragility preserved and gazed upon by obsessive collectors.
